What Does It Mean To Be Simply Fit?

I discovered a long time ago that I was never going to be Arnold Schwarzenegger, or as I had hoped a professional baseball player so I decided to just enjoy working out. This included running, weightlifting, and some skill activities like pick-up softball games or basketball games. In my 30’s and 40’s these worked fine but I found that I had to do more and more to stay in shape and to stay well simply fit. I am currently 69 years old, have had quadruple by-pass which I trained for and have come to terms with the fact that more isn’t necessarily better and as we grow older and we have to get the most bang for our buck when it comes down to exercise. Exercising for 10 minutes every day for a year can put you on the path to good health and it helps to prime the pump so that it becomes easier, which creates the desire to want to do more. But fitness doesn’t only include the physical dimension. Fitness includes the mental, the emotional and the spiritual dimension as well. Reading for 10 minutes every day can be a welcome break from technology and can help us expand our vocabulary and knowledge base. Even those who fear going out of their house can benefit from just a 10 minute walk and a friendly greeting to one of their neighbors. This can also help them to strengthen their emotions and begin to see some of the good in the world. Ten minutes of prayer and meditation can help strengthen our faith and create in us a sense of wellbeing and peace.

All of these things sound great don’t they? Well they are if we just do them consistently. I am sixty nine years old as I stated above and have played the start and stop game my whole life. I have discovered that patience is the key to any form of change that a person wants to make. I have to be patient with myself and others, that’s what makes the difference. Change will come as long as I don’t give up. The change will be incremental but it will come as long as I stay the course and remain consistent, that’s when I will realize that I am Simply Fit. My goal is to help you do the same. This book offers some quick ideas to help you become healthier and improve your longevity. But more importantly I want to help you live a fuller and more vibrant life.

Exercise Is The Key To Longevity

It Is Never To Late To Start❤️

My name is Jim Burns and at 69 years old I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. My goal as a CPT is to help those who are a bit older (my age) and want to grow a bit younger through exercise. I enjoy working with groups and individuals alike and I provide three very important components that I believe are the backbone for those who are my age however I do work with all ages. My believe is that as we exercise we all need instrumental, social, and companionship support. All of this is explained in my new book; Be Simply Fit
